Mango Michelada
Wikipedia version---: A michelada is a Mexican cerveza preparada made with beer, lime juice, and assorted sauces, spices, and peppers. It is served in a chilled, salt-rimmed glass. There are numerous variations of this beverage throughout Mexico and Latin America.
In Latin America, micheladas are often believed to be a folk remedy for hangovers. There are different variations of micheladas; for example, in Mexico City, the most common form is prepared with beer, lime, salt, and particular hot sauces or chile slices.
Here's my version-
- YIELD:Makes 1 drink
- TOTAL TIME:5 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 tablespoon of salt
- 2 ounces fresh juice from lemons, reserve the juiced rind for the rim
- 1/3 cup mango juice
- 1 (12-ounce) can or bottle Mexican beer, I used Corona, well chilled
Directions
- 1.Mix chili powder & salt into a small, shallow dish in an even layer. Rub a pint's glass rim with the cut side of the reserved juiced lime/ lemon half, then dip glass into the dish to create a salt rim.
- 2.Set glass right side up and fill with lemon juice, mango juice. Fill the glass with ice, and top with beer. Stir gently. Serve with remaining beer, topping up as you drink, and Salud!
